Frank Seckler- Metal Furniture

For over two decades Frank Seckler has been creating unique metal art. He has concentrated on developing patinas that bring warmth and texture to his steel pieces. Frank has successfully married his love of color and the design process to bring you art that is not only beautiful but functional as well. Frank Seckler works and lives in Taos, New Mexico.

"My training started in painting and printmaking. Then I was introduced to welding. The ability to manipulate such a hard material, to forge steel, cut it and weld it, smash and re-form it was exhilarating. Once I was able to add the colors I loved from painting to the metal via natural patinas I felt I found my voice in this media.

I speak through the crafting of my work. Everything is hands on. Whether the design restrictions of functional art (tables) or the relative freedom of sculpture, the language is the same: line, form, texture and color.

My desire in functional work and sculpture is to find excellence in design and tell a story through form. "
