Sandy Kerski - Clothing Sandy loved fabric as a child and was introduced to the thrill of clothing creation by her older sister. To this day, textiles fascinate her. Color is primary with the feel or “hand” of the fabric completing the choice. Her designs emerge from the unique characteristics of each fabric selected.
She began sewing at age 12, when “Home Ec.” was still called Home Ec. Classes in clothing construction, tailoring and ultimately pattern design, ignited her passion for design. Despite a 15 year nursing career and raising children, Sandy’s passion for textiles and sewing, design and creative expression never ceased.
She delights in steeping herself in the amazing color, texture and pattern of fabrics available today while expressing her own interpretation of style trends. “I find it truly joyful to dwell in the possibilities and to then create something unique, artistic and functional.” Sandy hopes that others will experience as much joy wearing Artessa accessories and apparel as she has had in creating them.
