Detail-oriented grandmothers who knitted, crocheted, tatted and embroidered were my first teachers. Along with my studies at UW-Milwaukee I have been influenced by Elizabeth Tuttle’s use of colored thread and Diane Itter’s knotting techniques. Living amongst acres of woods and fields, small details in nature from seed pods to nests are always subconsciously with me. Extensive travel to remote regions of the world along with daily interaction with people from many cultures has broadened my world and influenced my work. I like to experiment with color, texture and form. The variations in color and pattern are a product of the slow, intricate, process of construction. The intimate, personal, handmade nature of my work is what I hope people respond to.Linda currently has a piece in the Northern Colorado Weavers Guild Fiber Celebration 2009 juried exhibit at the Loveland Museum/Gallery in Loveland Colorado.
