"I like to create moments of time; moments that I would find repeatedly enjoyable. I gravitate toward bold, high contrast statements, with intense, dynamic darks. Creating dynamic contrasts improve the clarity and intensity of the lights and color, increasing a sense of depth. My intent is for the viewer to relate to that sense of depth and therefore, more easily, share the moment."Lenox received her BS in Art Education from Northern Illinois University and her MS from Goddard College, Vermont, and has studied with Irving Shapiro and the American Academy of Art. She has recently retired from the Palos Heights Public School System where she was also certified in Gifted Education.
Her teaching career continues with workshops at various facilities such as the Plein Aire Painting Workshop at Monta Flori Gardens in Lemont, IL, and Adult Watercolor Painting at the Peninsula Art School, Fish Creek, WI, where she has taught summers since 1992.
