Artist Statement

Through gold and silver my work recreates forms of nature and life in a simplistic manner with the ancient techniques of repoussé and chasing. Precious and semi-precious stones are an adjunct to these forms. In addition, they are colorful, architectural works in miniature. The bridge between technology and aesthetics is challenging today as it is the right combination of art and research that sensitizes the universe. We need each other. Each piece is, therefore, designed to compliment the gems and metal into a unique one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry. Because metal is so ductile I have the freedom of pushing, tooling, raising and forming the metal into a piece that pleases others as well as myself in a uncluttered fashion.
