Ratindra Das is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society and holds Master status in the Transparent Watercolor Society of America. He has been recipient of numerous awards including five in the American Watercolor Society. He is also a signature member of six other national watercolor societies. He attended the American Academy of Art in Chicago and studied with many nationally known artists. For the second time he has been selected from the US to exhibit in the Invitational Exhibition of Contemporary International Watermedia Masters in Nanjing, China and has been appointed as Honorary Member of the Jiangsu Watercolor Research Institute. In addition he has been invited to participate in the 1st “Shanghai Zhujiajiao International Watercolor Biennial Exhibition” in 2010. In 2009 he received five national awards. A popular workshop instructor and frequent juror of shows and competitions, he served as a selection juror for the American Watercolor Society’s 2005 annual exhibition. He was the selection and award juror for 2006 Transparent Watercolor Society’s annual exhibition and in 2009 served as a juror and instructor for other national shows. Ratindra is an avid outdoor painter and his favorite destinations include Maine, Mexico and of course-Door County in Wisconsin. He frequently gives demonstrations to general public as well as artists’ groups. He has been featured in ten books and several magazines and recently was included in a featured article “Break the Rules”in “Watercolor Magazine”, winter issue by American Artist, “Workshop 101” in Watercolor Artist, and soon to be published in “Best of America Watermedia Artists, Vol 2”. He produced a workshop video titled “Painting a Personal Reality in Watercolor”. He is represented by the Blue Dolphin House and Gallery, Ephraim, Wisconsin; Mullaly’s 128 Gallery, Elk Rapids, MI; Li Fine Art Gallery in Singapore and Diane Pearl Gallery in Ajijic, Mexico.
